Give it away, give it away, give it away now. Red Hot Chili Peppers Albums are on Spotify.
Something I’ve been waiting for quite a while is to stop having to use Grooveshark*. Now all the Red Hot Chili Peppers albums are on Spotify I don’t have to. Hurrah!
*Note: Grooveshark is not fully licensed and even when they do have licenses, they don’t necessarily pay the fees agreed. See EMI vs. Grooveshark.
By The Way and Californication are two of my favourite albums. Growing up playing in bands and covering these songs they have a lot of memories associated with them.
The question is that if RHCP now see the light, will this pave the way for more big artists to cave in and get themselves on Spotify? Most notably artists who made their money in the age of the CD (e.g. Metallica, AC/DC, Pink Floyd).
Realize, I don’t want to be a miser
Confide wisely, you’ll be the wiser
Young blood is the lovin’ upriser
How come everybody wanna keep it like the Kaiser?
So go on, put Chili Peppers in your ears.
